		A. Dependent clauses and word order (der Nebensatz und die Wortstellung) A dependent clause, as the name indicates, cannot stand alone. It is combined with a main clause to express a complete idea. While the main clause has regular word order, the verb in the dependent clause is always at the end of the clause. Main clause Dependent clause Viele Studierende essen Obst,  weil sie gesund essen wollen. Many students eat fruit because they want to eat healthily.    Ich weiß, dass die Mensen Bio-Produkte anbieten. I know that the cafeterias offer organic products.
