conjunction "nachdem" (die
Konjunktion "nachdem")
The
conjunction
nachdem is
equivalent to the English "after." The action described in
the main clause happens after the action described in the
nachdem-clause.
- If the verb in the
main clause is in the present
tense, then
the verb in the dependent clause is in the
present
perfect tense (gewesen
ist) or simple
past tense
(war).

- If the verb in the
main clause is in the simple
past tense
or
the present perfect,
then the verb in the dependent clause is in the
past
perfect tense
(gewesen war).
Note about word order:
- within the nachdem clause, the conjugated verb or auxiliary verb will always be in the last position.
